第7回1000の小箱展 / National Open Art

　　　　　　　　

I am exhibiting 2 small works in The 2014 Small Boxes Exhibition, Kankaku Museum in Miyagi, Japan. This museum of perception looks fascinating place to see as I am interested in (textile) arts related to human senses. The exhibition is using 1000 drawers and people can open as they like to enjoy the artworks until 1st of March 2015. (I should've taken some pics of works before I send them...! But I try to take some when I go see there in Feb.)

１１月末から宮城県にある感覚ミュージアムというところの『１０００の小箱展』にて、イギリスにいるときに作った２作品を来年の３月１日まで展示しています。私も今度見に行く予定で、常設も興味のあるものがたくさんある所なのでとても嬉しいし楽しみです。

Helping Dora Burns for her IN:SITE Project

I've been to Birmingham this week for the first time!

It was for helping my friend Dora Burns to make her site specific work at Birmingham Cathedral.

Since this August I've been living in her place in London and Sussex, Dora and me are now family and co-workers in her garage. I was very happy to be involved to her project as an assistant.

I thought I was always an independent worker, not keen to team-work. But this time I'm learning a lot from her, liking team-work and our improvised uniform!

THE SHOW IS..

The private view was yesterday, was hot (physically) and crowded till 9pm.

This lasts till next weekend so I'm going to see other courses' works during next week.

COLOUR PROJECT, HOME AND AWAY EXHIBITION

Having done the assessment and the show of colour project, I'm now trying to calm myself down but I feel like still being in excitement. This was absolutely a great experience and I had a lot of comments by  my tutors, fellow students and visitors about my work in only two days. No matter what was good or bad, all the reactions I have heard by people were very encouraging for my further study. I do appreciate all.

Also, a friend of mine called Mai has come visit me at Chelsea.

It was very lovely to see her again in London because we met in Hungary last year when I had a gap year from uni, and she has been travelling around the world and we finally could meet again!

There were also many people talked to me in the exhibition and I even saw some tutors from my foundation course which I had graduated two years ago. I couldn't believe they still remember me, how nice!

Childhood Storage (Film) by Anna-Nicole Ziesche

She is an artist who creates garments for making films. She uses fashion as visual objects for her films and perfomances.

Here's her interview, I really admire her perspective on herself and works. About what she tried to be and tried to do on her work so far, and how she think of herself at the present.

FREDDIE ROBINS

Freddie Robins is a textile artist who have a great influence on me.

I researched about her when I was on a foundation course at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. She is the first person who made me think that textiles are not only for fashion nor interior fabrics, but also for art. Then I really got into the world of textiles.

This time I had a chance to see her knitted work (pink one) at the joint exhibition in Germany.

It was very amazing as a whole. There are wonderful selections of art works by famous artists and designers such as Victor & Rolf, Martin Margiela, Hussein Charayan, Rei Kawakubo and more.

The museum I went today, Hamberger Bahnhof - Museum of Contemporary Art in Berlin, which is a former train station.

The exhibition was "Berlin Circle" by Richard Long.

 I liked this huge mud circle which the artist created by hands on site, using mud from the river Avon from his home town Bristol .

A circle, a line: they look good, they are abstract, they are common knowledge.

They belong to everyone and equally to the past, the present and the future.

Here's a video about this exhibition. I cannot understand German, but still interesting to know visually how the exhibition was made.

BEER PYRAMID

This is the most striking exhibithion I went today.

"The Recovery of Discovery" by Cyprien Gallard at KW institute for contemporary art.

I like the idea of work from his discription, the function which involves german people (They love beers!), and how they alter the original work itself.

Even though I couldn't actually participate in this installation as I cannot drink beer, but I guess the admission fee €4 is a great deal for All-You-Can-Drink party!
